The museum in Fürstenwalde descriptively explores 10,000 years of history of the former cathedral city. Individual topics of the permanent exhibition include local trade and Fürstenwalde as cathedral city and industrial location and are illustrated using the examples of historical figures. A distinctive feature is the storehouse exhibition with one of the largest traction load collections in Europe. Regular special exhibitions provide even more details about these subjects. The museum includes an archive which can be used for research purposes. The brewery museum in the City Hall cellar is also part of the city museum.
